KTM Unveils the 1390 Super Duke R Evo
KTM has recently introduced the powerful 1390 Super Duke R Evo to the global market. Known for their penchant for using "90" in their model names and their commitment to creating larger engines each year, the Austrian powersports brand has now released the 1390 following the launch of the 990 Duke in 2017.
The 2024 1390 Super Duke R Evo represents the culmination of 30 years of the Duke model range and is the most technologically advanced and powerful version of the bike to date. For those who missed our previous article, here's a brief overview of what to expect from this new bike.
One notable change in the 1390 is its departure from the 1290 in terms of styling. The bike features a new headlight that gives it a more alien-like appearance compared to its predecessor. This headlight is not just for aesthetics, as it is lighter and includes smart features like automatic ambient lighting. The 1390 Super Duke R Evo also boasts an improved frame and subframe, as well as modified bodywork for a more athletic stance.
In terms of performance, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo offers an impressive amount of power and torque thanks to its larger 1,350cc V-twin engine. With 188 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque, it is a formidable machine that may be too much for inexperienced riders. KTM's Super Duke range is not intended for beginners. The bike's performance is further enhanced by technological upgrades such as integrated cam shift and a redesigned airbox.
As expected, the 1390 Super Duke Evo R comes equipped with a comprehensive set of tech features. An IMU ensures the bike maintains stability during wheelies, turns, and braking. Additionally, the bike features electronically adjustable WP suspension and Brembo brakes. Optional upgrades like engine brake control and enhanced suspension modules are available for those seeking even more advanced features.
When it comes to pricing and availability, the 1390 Super Duke R Evo is a high-end naked streetfighter. In the US market, it is priced at $21,499 USD. In Europe, the bike is priced at 24,280 euros in Italy, 19,599 GBP in the UK, and 26,999 euros in Germany.
